I’ve been posting a lot less content of late. It wasn’t my intention to just disappear, but as I’ve come to find out, unforeseen things happen in life. In this post, I’ll briefly explain the long hiatus & discuss plans for the future of the blog & YouTube channel.
The Straw That Broke The Camel’s Back
Rewind back to August 2021. Two things happened. The first, was the explosion of my Microsoft Flight Simulator YouTube channel. I had a video go semi-viral in July that resulted in a huge increase in subscribers and views, and it’s only continued to climb since then. It made logical sense to redirect more of my time to it, since it started providing me with some side revenue. I still intended on blogging about once a month at the time.
But then, something else unexpected happened: I developed an ear disorder that manifests itself in the form of ear ringing (tinnitus) that made it difficult to concentrate and focus, and affected my motivation not only for this blog but for everything. In the face of all this, the flight sim channel became my main creative outlet.
Blog & Vlog Goals
What I’ve realized is producing quality content takes time, and there are some topics where you’re better off being a producer, and others a consumer. For the time being, I’ve decided I’ll continue producing Flight Sim content, and become mostly a consumer of tech/.NET/cloud content.
I’m not gone by any means, and I’m always here if anyone needs help. And I do have plans and ideas for a relaunch in the future that would be pretty cool, but I don’t have time to allocate to it right now, unfortunately. Balancing work, family, and personal interests is tricky!
